Meeting Minutes, December 11th, 2004

The December 11, 2004 OKCAA meeting and Bowl Show was held at Dean and Cynthia Teague’s house. The meeting kicked off socializing while everyone enjoyed the potluck. Thank you to everyone who brought something.

Next on the agenda was the Bowl Show. Thank you to all who entered. The judges had a hard time judging. The judges were Brian, Dean, Howard, and Kyle.

Category 1: Domestic Cultivars. These fish are mutated forms of wild fish. Entered were:

  • Ballon molly – Poecilia sphenops
  • Peach oranda – Carassius auratus
  • Delta tail – Betta splendens
  • Galaxy guppy – Poecilia reticulata

Winner was B. splendens Delta Tail.
 

Category 2: Wild Livebearers and Killiefish. Entered were:

  • Endler LiveBearer – Poecilia sp endler
  • Blue gularis – Fundulopanchax sjoestedti
  • Splitfin goodeid – Xenoophorus captivus

Winner was Blue Gularis.
 

Category 3: Cichlids.

  • Entered and winner was the Convict Archocentrus nigrofasciatus.

 

Category 4: Schooling fish. Entered were

  • Hi fin barb Oreichthys cosuatis
  • White cloud Tanichthys albonubes

Winner was Hi Fin Barb.
 

Category 5: Catfish and Bottom Dwellers.

  • Entered and winner was Swartz cory – Corydoras swartzi.

 

Category 6: Anabantoids and all others. Entered and tied winners were

  • Red saddleback – Amphiprion ephippium
  • Ornate Ctenopoma – Ctenopoma ansorgii

 

Category 7: Invertebrates. Entered

  • Glass anemone – Aiptasia sp
  • Cherry shrimp Neocaridina denticulata
  • Snails briidges Pomacea bridgesii

Winner was Cherry Shrimp.
 

People's Choice Award went to the Peach Oranda.

BAP Certificates awarded:

  • Richard Atwood for Cryptoheros’ nigrofasciatum
  • Kyle and Monica Osterholt for Hemichromis Guttatus and Poecilia Sp. Endlers

  • Bag of Najas Grass with Hornwort went for $2
  • Bag of Sunset Hygro 4 stems went for $2
