On 17 May 2003, we met at our new meeting location at the Will Rogers Garden Exhibition Center. It was a nice, easy to find location--our room was cozy but there was plenty of room for everyone.

The main focus of our meeting was video on fish collection (great preview for our upcoming? local area fish collection trip!) Inside the video, we were treated to a great number of cool scenes, including a fish market selling nice fresh pleco steaks (didn't know it was a food fish) and fish collecting in the Rio Negro and several other Amazon tributaries. We also saw some cool (though not strictly fish related) spectacles, including turtle releases, battling McCaws, snakes, crocodiles and butterflies, as well as buckets and buckets of collected fish. A very cool video.

Our club made a few dollars on fish sales (as did those adventurous entrepreneurs who brought items):

• 6 Bichardi went for $1
• 6 L Multi went for $1
• 7 Neolamplelupi "Karilani" Firecrackers went for $1
• 7 Neolamplelupi "Olivaceus" Tembave went for $1
• 6 Betta Mahachai for $7
• 6 Betta Falx went for $7
• 2 Betta Imbellis went for $5

Quite a good deal all alround.

We also had a round of BAP awards (three to be exact), going to:

• Gerald Griffin for Betta sp. Mahachai and Betta Falx
• Mike Dennis for Lampreologus Brichardi and Neolampeolgus Multifasciatus
• (I think Brian also picked up two awards, but I couldn't catch him after the meeting to get the names.)

A great time was had by all.
