Minutes from June 23rd Meeting

Began meeting at 1 PM at the OKC Zoo Educ Bldg. Presented auction items and had everyone sign in to be eligible for door prizes donated by Brine Shrimp Direct. Three members went home with flake and pellet foods and brine shrimp eggs. 9 members were present with two guests as well as the presenter Eric West.

Presentation was to be presented by Eric West and Travis Nelson of the Oklahoma Marine Aquarium Society in Tulsa. Travis had to drop out at the last minute, but Eric pulled it off wonderfully. Topic covered the more advanced elements of reef keeping as well as the first fish/inverts recommended.

Eric ran a little late so we proceeded with club business and announcements which included:

• Acceptance of Constitution and By-Laws. These passed unanimously.
• Discussion of Membership cards which Noel Cote is presently working on.
• Announcement of first run Executive Committee meeting to be held next Sunday.
• Discussion of present need for Treasurer and nominating committee members for November election.
• Announced next month's members-only tour at Sanctuary Gardens in Blanchard.
• Announced admission of three new members, The Reef Shop, Scott Stephens, and Deborah Lyne, as well as the loss of Tim Ayers from membership role.

Presentation commenced and question and answer session followed.

Auction was concluded and club secured $1.75 in donated and auction percentage funds.

Next meeting is set for July 8th in Blanchard. Noel will supply driving instructions and additional information shortly.

Following that meeting we will meet again in August at the Zoo to hear a presentation on ecological dangers involving the release on non-native species into Oklahoma waterways by Department of Fisheries representative, Gene Gililand. Hope to see you all there,
