Rank amateur is probably the best way to describe my current involvement in the aquarium hobby, but I hope to change that in the near future. I have no aquarium. I have never had an aquarium. I have always wanted an aquarium, and our family vacation to Florida two weeks ago to snorkel in Penncamp Coral Reef State Park finally pushed me over the edge. My daughter, who's 16, caught the bug too, and is anxious to get started and to help with everything. My investment so far is $40 for a couple of books on fish only marine setups, and several hours of internet browsing. I have narrowed down my shopping list to what I think is the minimum equipment that will get me ready to start cycling a 58 gallon tank. Click on an image to enlarge it.
