I have been keeping fish since I was a kid. My first was a perch I caught in a local lake which survived about 3 hours in the bowl at home as I kept petting it...

My current tanks include a 30 gal and 20 gal freshwater Fish Only (FO) tank. These hold a 7 yr old pleco and a 6 1/2 yr old cory cat. I also have 2 hatchet fish, 3 lemon tetras, and a pair of cherry barbs. We may also take on some cichlids soon as my wife seems to be interested in those.

The marine tank (55 gallon)is something I have wanted to try for years. I have had it up since mid May of 2003 with only one casualty a bi-color bleney who we believe may have encountered an anemone and been unable to recover. All of the marine critters have names. The oldest by far is Gizmo the Maroon Clown at a gestimated 4-5 years old. We got him several anemones in recent months and he is like a fry again. Our 3 dot damsels also manage to swim in the tentacles without apparent ill effect. One yellow tang and 1 watchman gobi round out that crew.

I do water changes weekly and watch my water chemistry in both tanks. I hear others who do neither and have successful tanks, but I continue do do water changes and monitor the water.

When I'm not doing aquariums I work for the phone company (outside). I've played guitar professionally and used to be a light to moderate challenge at chess.
